Do I need an internet connection during my ride?
No — your Karoo only needs an internet connection at the start of your ride to download the initial forecast. However, to receive real-time weather updates as conditions change, your Karoo must remain connected during the ride.
Can I use Epic Ride Weather without selecting a route?
Absolutely. You'll still receive live weather data based on your current location. However, selecting a route unlocks more advanced forecasting like wind timing and segment-specific predictions.
Do I need a subscription to use the Karoo integration?
A Forecasts subscription is required to use Epic Ride Weather on your Karoo. However, the integration is fully available during the free trial period—so you can try it out before committing.
Where can I install the Karoo integration?

Which data fields are available?
Epic Ride Weather for Karoo provides the following fields:
- Current Wind Shows the forecasted wind strength and direction at your current location. Arrows indicate the direction the wind is blowing relative to your bike. When a route is selected, a countdown timer displays how long the current wind conditions will last — based on your speed, route orientation, and upcoming forecast changes.
- Upcoming Wind Shows the forecasted wind strength and direction after the current conditions change. If a route is selected, the field also displays an estimated duration for those upcoming wind conditions. If no route is selected, it defaults to showing conditions expected in 1 hour.
- Precipitation Displays the forecasted probability (blue) and intensity (yellow) of rain or showers over the next hour. When a route is selected, forecasts are hyperlocal—matched precisely to your position along the route.
- Temperature Shows both the forecasted temperature (blue) and feels-like temperature (yellow) for the hour ahead. With a selected route, the data adapts to your exact location along the route for more precise, in-ride awareness.
